It's Time to Talk about Sex
Every day we are bombarded with sex in advertising, TV shows, movies and music videos. It’s everywhere we turn. The media uses sex to attract our attention and to get us excited, but the truth is that it does a lot more than just keep us watching..
The media has become our primary source of sex education. Today, the average teen will see almost 14,000 sexual references every year. Only 165 of these references refer to birth control, self-control, abstinence, pregnancy or STDs.* It’s no wonder that it’s so hard to resist the constant pressure to be sexually active.
It’s time to talk about sex. It’s time to talk about the effects our culture is having on our sexuality. It’s time to talk about how we can fight against negative influence, achieve healthy sexuality, and develop satisfying relationships.
