Baltimore Archdiocese to Implement Sex & Young America
April 12, 2002 - The Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland plans to use the National Coalition's new curriculum package, Sex & Young America, beginning this fall, according to a letter of recommendation for the new product from Cardinal William Keeler.
"We hope this recommendation will help Sex & Young America to be implemented in Catholic churches across the country," said Jack Samad, vice president of Internet safety and communications and producer of Sex & Young America.
Although Cardinal Keeler praises Sex & Young America as a well done program focusing effectively on extremely important issues, he recommends using supplemental materials from the Church that address additional human sexuality issues.
Sex & Young America is a combination of videos and written curriculum, for use in youth group settings, to help adults initiate open, honest discussions with young people about issues such as sex in the media, Internet pornography and the confusion surrounding virginity.
